The classic collection are gates designed to last through time. These gates are built using generous sized materials rather than flimsy and thin. In this case the tie bar at the mid height has been shaped accordingly to add a contemporary touch. A circle with decorative handles also adds an extra touch to this classic design.

The gate central top end has been decorated using a 150 mm sphere. The large capacity rear access post box has been built within railing panels. The gate has been automated using hydraulic ram operators. The design theme has been extended to the railings on both sides.

The main physical supports consist of 150 x 150 mm wrought iron posts, decorated with 20 mm thick flanges overlapping and 150 mm diameter spheres. The secondary physical supports for railings have been designed in the same layout however on a smaller scale using 100 x 100 mm square wrought iron posts.

The physical supports for this gate consist of brick piers, reinforced with core posts within. The underground operators and hinges have been positioned at the rear of each pier, allowing an opening in excess of 90 degrees. The property name has been engraved on a reconstituted stone & has been built recessed into the brick work. Additionally a blank reconstituted stone accommodates the electronic key pad and the bespoke stainless steel pedestrian opening button.

Illustrated is a 7.50 meter wide gate hinged from reinforced piers. The gate consists of heavy gauge tubular frame supporting the timber infill. The brick piers have been reinforced with universal columns as core posts.

In this occasion metal square frames representing the outer dimensions of the brick work have been welded temporarily onto the core posts prior to brick work erection. The temporary square frames act as a template/guideline for the bricklayers and have been positioned level to each other, square and in line to ensure brick work will be erected accurately.

Hinged brackets and special fabricated nests have been prewelded onto the core posts prior to brick pier erection. On completion of brick work , piers have been filled with liquid reinforced concrete. The installation of the fabricated nests, together with the bespoke heavy duty adjustable hinges, will enable the large hydraulic ram operators to be installed at a specific geometry whilst allowing the gate to be positioned in the centre of the piers.

Furthermore in this occasion the geometry of the hinges also allow in excess of 90 degrees opening, as illustrated avove. On oversized gate leafs the use of the ram operators as locking devises alone is not recommended. Therefore the use of magnet locks and automatic drop bolts, in order to hold the gate securely closed on full close position is essential. In this case two sets of magnets rather than one have been built as part of the frame. The stainless steel automatic drop bolts have also been doubled up and fabricated to be recessed as part of the gate frame.

The gate consists of an 80 mm profile frame. The double top horizontal shaped bars consist of 80 x 15 mm full steel bars, forged to shape. The frame uprights consist of 80 x 80 mm square steel sections, shaped to be semi circular at top ends. The vertical decorative elements on the upper part consist of 32 mm full round steel forged bars.

European Oak grooved planks are used to infill the lower part of the gate. The gate frame has been fabricated with the appropriate pockets to accommodate the timber. The pockets have been fabricated as removable to allow the removal of timber for maintenance as necessary.

The posts consist of 150 x 150 mm square steel tubular sections shaped to be semi circular at top ends to match the gate frame. The railings on either side have been manufactured using the identical components as per gate. The gate has been automated using hydraulic underground invisible operators.

Due to the size of the gate frame bespoke hinges have been modified accordingly in order for the gate to be installed in line with the posts. Bespoke metal shaped covers have been fabricated to accommodate the photo cells. The complete entrance system includes vehicle detectors, cordless intercom with key pad, push exit button and lights.

The safety photocells have been installed within bespoke fabricated nests with vandal resistant properties. Furthermore, the use of the nests allows installation of the safety photocells directly on to the support posts. The gate has been installed over uneven ground on an unfinished road surface. The high clearance over ground level eliminates the use of traditional central stops. Instead special ram operators with internal adjustable stops have been installed. However in order to ensure both leafs align perfectly in full close position, the heavy duty adjustable hinges have been fabricated using a unique geometry.

As illustrated, sets of stainless steel bolts and rubber elements have been installed on the gate frame and posts. Four sets have been installed in total (one on each hinge). In full close position the gate frame hexagon bolt strikes against the stainless steel bolt with rubber element installed on the post. The bolts can be adjusted to provide a perfect alignment on gate leafs in full close position. The hydraulic ram operators will apply pressure, ensuring that both gate leafs will remain firmly closed as necessary.

The access control system comprises of vehicle detectors, electronic key pads and fob readers on standalone fabricated posts.

Excavation was carried out to expose the foundations and allow the installation of underground operators. The exposed foundations have been drilled in various positions and High yield reinforced bars installed within.

The underground operators have been chemically fixed against the brick work accurately in position. The appropriate self soaking pipe has been installed allowing escape of excess water within underground operators. Heavy duty flexi conduit is also installed in position to carry the cables from and to underground operators. The new foundations have been filled with quick set early strength reinforced concrete. This gate is designed to give the impression of a double leaf. However, constructed as a single leaf gate. Due to the large single leaf width, the installation of a magnet lock was necessary to ensure that the gate will remain securely locked in full close position. The gate and support post have been designed accordingly to avoid restriction of the width on existing driveway.

The physical support post consists of a rectangular steel section and has been chemically fixed against the brick wall. The main gate weight is mainly supported by the brick wall as large foundations were not applicable in this location. The gate has been constructed using 50 mm profile components.

The installation of these additional devises is to provide additional security. The gate has been modified accordingly. The slim line magnets, of which there were 2, have been fitted as part of the gate frame on the initial closed leaf. The corresponding armoured plates have also been installed on the secondary gate leaf. The auto drop bolt has been fitted onto the initial leaf. The secondary leaf will push against the drop bolt lever, activating the anchor locking against the central stop. The magnets will then apply suction force against the armoured plates securing the secondary leaf firmlyagainst the initial leaf.

The already activated auto drop bolt will ensure both leafs remain anchored on full close position. On gate open command the magnets will terminate suction. The secondary leaf fitted with the armoured plates will open, initially disengaging the auto drop bolt. The initial leaf fitted with the magnets and drop bolt is then free to open. Magnetic locks and automatic drop bolts are also essential on large gates where the operators alone cannot be used as locking devises.
